Picture day’s coming soon…don’t miss your chance to make sure you make it into the yearbook!

Senior pictures will be taken October 21st and 22nd in the mini gym. We wanted to remind you need to have your picture taken in order to be in the yearbook. Please be sure to dress appropriately. The school dress code still applies. Gentlemen, a shirt and tie or a shirt with a collar would be greatly appreciated. Ladies, please do not wear anything with spaghetti straps.

Students will have their portraits taken during their Civics/Economics classes. For those students who do not have Civics/Economics, an appointment will be assigned by the yearbook staff. Reminder notices for all seniors will be sent the week before pictures are to be taken.

If you are absent or otherwise unable to take your yearbook photo in October, there will be a make-up day on November 6, 2008. Seniors should make their final yearbook portrait selection (through Essence Photography) by November 28, 2008.

Once all make-up photos are taken for the yearbook, the Senior panoramic photo will be taken November 6 in the main gym (sometime before lunch).

1. Pick your favorite photos. Now go back and pick your most favorite photos. Many pictures in the tribute means that they have been made very small in order to fit. We recommend:

2. If you are tech wise we recommend you scan the photos. This keeps the photos in your home. Before you scan clean the scanner glass and the photos of any dust - it shows up boldly on the scanned photo. Photos printed on textured paper do not scan well. We can restore some pictures with color fading and damage. You can now email your scans as jpegs to granitehills.yearbook@gmail.com. Include your message in the email along with all contact information (your name, address, phone numbers in case we have a question). We CANNOT work with photos placed on Word, PowerPoint, or Microsoft Publisher. We also cannot work with photos printed on desktop printers. The quality of all the previous is degrades when reproduced in a yearbook.

3. If you want to send us the actual photos put pictures, the information form, and the message you want in an envelope with your return address on it. PLEASE DO NOT HAND TRIM YOUR PHOTOS. Bring them in an envelope to the front office to put in Ms. Fields' box.

4. For the artists among you - If you wish, bring us your art or collage and we will scan it for our yearbook or you scan it and send us the jpeg. Remember the size and shape of the ad space you wish to purchase. For example, an 8 x 11 hand done ad doesn't fit in a half page space.

5. Make a payment in cash or with a check (to GHHS Yearbook) with Ms. Martinez at the Student Activities window located in the front office.

* These are the maximum sizes for Senior tribute art. Do not include any borders in your design; they will be deleted. All outside borders will be added by the yearbook staff.

Partial payments can be made. However, the full payment must be completed within the chosen offer period to receive the discount for that period.
