Mrs. Shelly Lozano

Grew up in Brandon, South Dakota, graduated Brandon Valley High School in May 1980.  College - Augustana College (Div. II - North Central Conference) Full Athletic Scholarship - Basketball, Graduated B.A. in Physical Education 1984.

Married to Phillip Lozano, 2 children Shelby -5 years, Shane -2 years, we reside in Visalia, CA

Class Policies

Granite Hills High School expects all students enrolled in Physical Education Classes to dress out and participate daily in any and all physical education activities.

Students are expected to be dressed out on the second day of school.

Uniform Requirements:

    1.  Cardinal Red P.E. shorts (sold in the Student Store $12.00)

    2.  White Granite Hills Physical Education T-Shirt, with full cut sleeves.  (sold in the           Student Store $12.00)

    3.  White Athletic Socks (colored stripes at the top o.k.)

    4.  Lace-type tennis schoes or Velcro Closure tennis shoes.   No black marking soles.  No          heel or elevator style shoes.

    5.  Gray Sweats are allowed during the winter months (may have GHHS logo).  I will let          you know when it okay to begin wearing sweats.

    6.  Swimsuits must be worn for swimming and P.E. shorts may be worn for swimming. 

 

Official Grizz Gear may be purchased at the Granite Hills High School Student Store.

 

Policies for Absences:

  

    Parent Request for Excuse from P.E.:

        With a note from a parent, a student may be excused from participation in physical education for up to 3 days because of illness. Limit:  1 time per semester (or 3 days).  Student must dress out for P.E. in full uniform & does not have to make up the non-participation.  Student must do class assignment as assigned by Mrs. Lozano.   Student does need to remind Mrs. Lozano of the parent note, so that points are not deducted.

        The written note must include the following: 

                        Student's first and last name

                        Class period

                        Days to be excused

                        Parent signature

                        Phone number where parent can be reached during the                              student's physical education class period.

    Doctor Verified Excuse from P.E.

        With written Dr. verification for excuse from P.E. class, student is excused for as long as the Dr. requires (Up to 3 Weeks);   Depending on the Dr.'s request, student may be sent to the Library to do written reports, or if possible, the student would dress out for P.E. & does not have to make up the non-participation days.  If the Dr. requires the student to be out of P.E. for over a total of 3 weeks during a quarter, the student will be placed in another class, with a plan to return to P.E. the next semester with clearance from the Doctor
